Youth - Our Future
5th through 12th grade Students
Girls can shoot as well as boys!
The Saginaw Field and Stream Conservation Club sponsors a youth shotgun program each year at the Saginaw Field and Stream Club grounds located at 1296 N Gleaner Rd.
In this program students will learn:
- GUN SAFETY
- The sport of trap and/or skeet
- Shotgun shooting techniques
We will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. beginning May 9th, 2012. Students will be permitted to shoot two rounds of either trap or skeet, or one round of each.
Each student is asked to furnish his or her own shotgun. (preferably 12 gauge or 20 gauge as we only have 12 or 20 gauge ammunition), however the club does have a few shotguns available for use by those students who do not have their own.
Students will need eye and ear protection and these items are available at the club for those who don't have their own. There will be a $7.00 charge for targets and ammunition per week and students have to be 10 or older.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn to handle a gun safely or improve their target and/or hunting skills. Our participants have always enjoyed themselves and made new friends. Some have gone on to compete at state and national levels, winning trophies and even scholarships. Follow this link to see some photos and read about past participants.
